Upcoming Events

Chapter meetings are normally every 3rd Tuesday of the month at Tye Preston Memorial Library (August, September, and October meetings will be at Mammen Public Library Room B due to construction at TPML).  Social time at 5:30 PM, Business Meeting at 6:00 PM, Plant of the Month at 6:10 PM, and an hourlong program starting at 6:15 PM.

Board meetings are every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 9:30 AM at Tye Preston Memorial Library, all interested parties are welcome to attend.

        Gorge Preservation Society workdays (Canyon Lake Gorge):

  • August 13th (second Thursday) Mammen seed cleaning 2-4 PM.
  • August 18th Lindheimer NPSOT Chapter meeting at Mammen room B, speaker Tracey Brown on “Fruitful choices”. The talk explores a variety of fruit-bearing trees and shrubs that thrive in Central Texas, focusing on both native species and well-adapted cultivars.  At Mammen.
  • August 20th (third Thursday) Garden Ridge seed cleaning 1-3 PM.
  • August 21st (not on the second Friday this month) TPML seed cleaning 2-4 PM.
  • September 12th A tree Huggers Guide: A Native Tree Care and Landscape Design Course, 10 AM – 2 PM at the San Marcos Public Library 625 E. Hopkins St.
  • September 15th Jeff Pavalat, the Curator of Cacti & Succulents of the Zilker Botanical Garden in Austin, speaking on “Cacti & Succulents of South Texas”. At Mammen.
  • September 19th NLCP 2 at Mammen. Currently full.
  • September26th Field trip to Zilker Botanical, Austin. Guided tours start at $7 per visitor 10-11:30 AM.
  • October 31st NLCP 3 at Mammen. Currently full.
  • October 31st Fall Plant Sale at Mammen.
  • November 17th Lindheimer NPSOT Chapter meeting at Mammen Room B annual seed exchange.
