Lindheimer Chapter Board Minutes July 2026 (Preliminary)
9:30 AM 7/7/26. Called to order at 9:32 AM

Old Business:
What do we do with our You Tube site? Who will notify Bob that we have permission to post the recording of the speakers? Bob is posting meeting recordings to YouTube when he is notified (he posted April after an email on board@lindheimerchapternpsot.org ). The board thinks it would be best for Mike to let Bob know if the recording can be posted.
State Society:
- Do we want to order any yard signs from Thompson Printing (open through August 3rd). We should order 5 each of the two different signs, Dick will send out an email asking for a vote.
President’s Report: Sara Torres, Acting
- Continue Board meetings at TPML at 9:30, on the second Tuesday, reservation for Sept. through Dec. at TPML has been submitted. We will hold our chapter meetings at Mammen Family Public Library during construction. Nancy has reserved a room at Mammen Library for July, August, and September for the chapter meetings.
- Please turn in your Event Liability Forms.
- I had to clean up the Lindheimer Chapter Accounting folder on the State’s Dropbox account, where we have been storing a lot of chapter files. Sara will continue to leave the chapter files on her DropBox, contact her if anything is needed from them. The paid chapter Dropbox has expired.
- Storage shed flooring has been replaced, contents sorted to remove things no longer needed, other items are back in the shed. There is a tarp over the shed as there is unidentified leaking, everything is protected from water damage.
Secretary’s Report: Dick Bigelow
- Dick Bigelow, VOTE to approve minutes. Dick will send out an email asking for approval for the June minutes.
- Determination of who will turn in form to designate who has State standard emails. We decided we did not need any of the addresses at this time, Dick will fill out the form on the State website.
Treasurer’s Report: Sarah Mato
- The bank balance as of 06/25/26 is $3,523.15.
- Update on 2025 audit. Jan will send an email to Sarah and the Board that the auditors all looked at their items and everything looked good.
- Craig has to resubmit the 2026 NLCP expenses, they told him that the most that can be reimbursed is $100 per speaker. All the 2025 expenses have been submitted and should be in process. He said he would send Sarah all the emails that he had from Linda Floss.

- Native Seed Library Program, upcoming workdays
- July 9th (second Thursday) Mammen seed cleaning 2-4 PM.
- July 10th (second Friday) TPML seed cleaning 2-4 PM.
- July 16th (third Thursday) Garden Ridge seed cleaning 1-3 PM.
- September 19th NLCP 2 Mammen.
- October 31st NLCP 3 Mammen.
- Debbie, Leon, and Craig are redoing the NLCP I, II, and III plant walk lists for the new locations they will be taught at.

Chamber of Commerce demonstration garden – Sara Torres, 3rd Wednesdays 9 AM.

Mamman Demo Garden – 2nd Wednesdays only July, and August 9:00-11:00.
Gorge Preservation Society workdays (Canyon Lake Gorge) – Every Tuesday 9-11, 2nd Saturdays 9-12.

- Fall plant sale will coincide with NLCP III on Oct 31 at Mammen Library.
- Spring plant sale – I like the suggestion of having one of our NLCP classes and plant sale early in the spring at Mammen if they are agreeable. I am looking at April 3 or 10 as possibilities.

- July 9st room B at Mammen. Elizabeth McGreevy, author of Mountain Cedars Wanted Alive or Dead. Will order her book for a door prize.
- August 18th room B at Mammen, Tracey Brown will speak on “Fruitful Choices”, the talk will explore a variety of fruit-bearing trees and shrubs that thrive in Central Texas, focusing on both native species and well-adapted cultivars.
- September 15th Jeff Pavalat at Mammen – the Curator of Cacti & Succulents of the Zilker Botanical Garden in Austin, speaking on “Cacti & Succulents of South Texas”.
Field Trip Chair: Christina Campbell
- Field trip to Inevitable Technology at 103 Center Point Rd. Ste A in San Marcos is lined up for Saturday, July 18th at 11am.

- As of 7-3-26 105 primary members + 37 affiliates = 142 total.

- HEB gift card balance is $240.
New Business:
- SignupGenius sent us an email about the chapter getting an account. Does Debbie still want to use her account for us? I know this has come up in the past. Has anything changed? Sara says our chapter has an account if one is needed, Dick said that Debbie has usually been the one setting things up and it is easier for her to use her account.
