Nancy __ Christina _x_ Mike Laffey __ Jan Walker _X_ (Quorum met, 8 of 7 required).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Old Business<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Were the yard signs from Thompson Printing (open through August 3rd) ordered?\u00a0 Sarah has ordered the signs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>State Society<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No update.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>President\u2019s Report: Sara Torres, Acting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Continue Board meetings at TPML at 9:30, on the second Tuesday, reservation for Sept. through Dec. at TPML has been approved.\u00a0 We will hold our chapter meetings at Mammen Family Public Library during construction.\u00a0 Nancy has reserved a room at Mammen Library for August through December for the chapter meetings.\u00a0 Sara will ask about doing TPML for chapter meetings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please turn in your Event Liability Forms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Secretary\u2019s Report:<\/strong> Dick Bigelow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dick Bigelow, <strong>VOTE<\/strong> to approve minutes.\u00a0 Dick made a motion to approve the July minutes, Bev seconded, unanimous approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Treasurer\u2019s Report<\/strong>: Sarah Mato<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The bank balance as of 08\/31\/26 was $4238.81.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sarah said that rebates from State are very disorganized. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Update on 2025 audit.\u00a0 Email was sent to Sarah and Dick that the audit was completed with no issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Director of Formal Education:<\/strong> Craig Bruska<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Native Seed Library Program, upcoming workdays<ul><li>September 10th (second Thursday) Mammen seed cleaning 2-4 PM.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>September 11th (second Friday) TPML seed cleaning 2-4 PM.<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>September 17th (third Thursday) Garden Ridge seed cleaning 1-3 PM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>September 19th NLCP 2 Mammen.\u00a0 Registration is full.\u00a0 Preparation was discussed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>October 31st NLCP 3 Mammen.\u00a0 Registration is full.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Director of Community Outreach:<\/strong> <em>Sara Torres, Acting<\/em><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Demonstration Gardens<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country &#8211; Sara Torres, 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Wednesdays 9 AM.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Our next workday is Wednesday, September 16th at 9:00 AM (3rd Wednesdays).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mamman Demo Garden &#8211; 2nd Wednesday only September 9:00-11:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gorge Preservation Society workdays (Canyon Lake Gorge) &#8211; Every Tuesday 9-11, 2nd Saturdays 9-12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Debbie<\/strong> has signed us up for the HEB tabling for Native Plant Week.\u00a0 I will request the HEB in Spring Branch at the intersection of 46 and 281.\u00a0 It is the most convenient one on the list.\u00a0 Based on feedback from the board, I will only commit to the 2nd weekend which is Oct. 24,25.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Director of Communications<\/strong>: Open<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facebook \u2013 Nancy 162 followers up from 159 last month.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trying to solicit FB followers from the past pages, been sending invites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Send upcoming events to Dick to be updated on the website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Director of Plant Sales<\/strong>: Debbie Kyrouac<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fall plant sale will coincide with NLCP III on Oct 31 at Mammen Library. \u00a0Preparation was discussed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spring plant sale &#8211; With Easter being March 28, I propose that we reach out to Mammen Library and Leon to see if we can secure April 3 for an NLCP class and Spring plant sale.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Past President:<\/strong> Sara Torres<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>She pointed out that there are many open positions on the board for next year.\u00a0 If they are not filled it will be difficult for the chapter to continue operating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Field Trip Chair: Christina Campbell<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>September field trip to Zilker Botanical, Austin is confirmed. Guided tours start at $7 per visitor and usually last between 60-90 minutes. Saturday, September 26th 10am-11:30 AM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Membership<\/strong>: Bev Willman<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As of 9\/4\/26, we have 106 primary members + 33 affiliates = 139 total.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hospitality<\/strong>: Jan Walker<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a>The current HEB card contains about $225.00.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I&#8217;m trying to get ideas for the Christmas meeting.
