{"id":5953,"date":"2025-08-14T16:41:46","date_gmt":"2025-08-14T16:41:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lindheimerchapternpsot.org\/?page_id=5953"},"modified":"2025-09-17T14:30:30","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T14:30:30","slug":"board-minutes-august-2025","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lindheimerchapternpsot.org\/?page_id=5953","title":{"rendered":"Board Minutes August 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Minutes for Board of Directors Meeting Lindheimer Chapter NPSOT August 12, 2025<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meeting start time:&nbsp; Called to order by President Sara Torres at 9:36 AM, at TPML.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In attendance:&nbsp; President Sara Torres, Secretary Dick Bigelow, Treasurer Sarah Mato, Director of Formal Education Craig Bruska, Director of Communications Marian Stasney, Membership Coordinator Bev Willmann, Field Trip Coordinator Christina Campbell, Hospitality Coordinator Charlotte Wright, Plant of the Month Coordinator Leon Dominick.&nbsp; Quorum requirement was not met (5 of 6 required directors present).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not attending: &nbsp;Director of Plant Sales Debbie Kyrouac, Past President Mickey Riviere, Facebook Coordinator Nancy DeMarco, Director of Community Outreach (Open).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u>Old Business:<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">None.<em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">State Society:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fall 2025 Symposium will be in Salado 10\/3-10\/5, hosted by the Tonkawa Chapter.&nbsp; Registration is open.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fall NLCP Classes are open for registration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Force of Nature Research Competition \u2013 opens 8\/15, for middle schools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u>President\u2019s Report:<\/u><\/em>&nbsp; Sara Torres:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a>Celebrating 25 Years! See \u201cWildscapes Workshop\u201d Plan sent to the board by email.<\/a><ul><li>Tentative date September 27<sup>th<\/sup>, date has been officially confirmed.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Online registration form draft is complete, waiting for meal options and approximate cost before going live.&nbsp; Would Marian like to work with me on a Zoom to finalize it?<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>I can order copies of our speaker\u2019s book.&nbsp; If they are <em>not <\/em>returnable, I will only order 20?&nbsp; If they <em>are <\/em>returnable, then I think 40 would be a better number. I emailed to find out if returnable.&nbsp; This was agreed to.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Dick \u2013 update on speakers, speakers are set.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>We will plan on $20 per person for food, lunch will be from HEB, breakfast will be like NLCP (Marian will pick up things from CostCo).<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>T shirts will be $13.65 each from Big Frog, we will enable people to order larger sizes than XL when they register.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Event poster distribution was discussed.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Christina has a number of organizations bringing tables.<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We will use MailChimp to get feedback on the workshop from participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Continue Board meetings at TPML at 9:30, on the second Tuesday, reserved for September to December at TPML.&nbsp; During construction our Board can meet in the Chamber of Commerce meeting room.&nbsp; We will hold our chapter meetings at Mammen Family Public Library during construction.&nbsp; Craig said construction would not begin until next year and there would probably be only one month we would be affected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please turn in your Event Liability Forms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u>Secretary\u2019s Report<\/u><\/em><em><u>:<\/u><\/em><em>&nbsp; <\/em><em>Dick Bigelow<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Craig moved that the July minutes be approved, Sara seconded, unanimous approval.&nbsp; Debbie and Mickey will be asked via email to approve since there was not a quorum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u>Treasurer\u2019s report<\/u><\/em><strong><u>:<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp; Sarah Mato:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chase Checking $<strong>4,636.42 <\/strong>as of 8\/11\/25.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Budgeted donations to NPSOT State Programs include $300 for BBMT and $100 to I-35 Monarch Waystations were made.&nbsp; Fall Symposium fund of $200 to be paid closer to the event.&nbsp; We sent $100 to Friends of TPML and $125 to the Canyon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce for memberships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have $1,000 in donations budgeted to give out.&nbsp; Suggestions?&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does anyone need reimbursement?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u>Director of Formal Education:<\/u><\/em><em> <\/em><em>Craig Bruska<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NLCP Level 4 will be taught Nov. 8<sup>th<\/sup> at the Headwaters of the Comal in the Fall, once construction is complete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NLCP 3 will be taught by Craig and Leon Oct. 11<sup>th <\/sup>at TPML.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Native Seed Library Program, what are the August Seed Cleaning Workdays?<ul><li>August 14<sup>th<\/sup> Mammen seed cleaning 2-4 PM.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>August 21<sup>st<\/sup> <a>Garden Ridge seed cleaning 1-3 PM.<\/a><\/li><\/ul><ul><li>September 11<sup>th<\/sup> Mammen seed cleaning 2-4 PM.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>September 12<sup>th<\/sup> TPML seed cleaning 2-4 PM.<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>September 18<sup>th<\/sup> Garden Ridge seed cleaning 1-3 PM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fall\/Winter propagation classes being locked down.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u>Director of Community Outreach<\/u><\/em><strong><u>:<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp; Sarah Torres, acting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NICE Committee\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We are planning to have information tables at each of our NICE Nurseries in the Fall, Spring was just a little too busy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outreach Events&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chamber of Commerce CLACC \u2013 Here is the list of upcoming Chamber events.&nbsp; Would anyone like to attend with me?<ul><li>AUGUST &#8211; DATE TBD GVTC to host joint event for CLACC, Bulverde SB and Blanco Chambers.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>SEPTEMBER &#8211; 9\/23\/25 CRRC and Hope Hospice.<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OCTOBER &#8211; 10\/11\/25 WORD\/COE to host Canyon Lake Area Chamber 26th annual BBQ Cook Off at Canyon Park.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leon is looking at plants of the month for 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><u>Director of Communications:<\/u><\/em><em> <\/em>&nbsp;Marian Stasney:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Online Store for T-shirts using CafePress.&nbsp; The sample shirt was not acceptable.&nbsp; We will use Big Frog for the workshop t-shirts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facebook \u2013 Nancy, any new updates?
