It is a low-growing plant that spreads easily, commonly having an ultimate width larger than its height.<\/p><p><b>Planting Sites: <\/b>The Texas Lantana plant thrives in soils that are poor to average, so avoid amending soils to increase fertility or nutrient quality. The best types of soils for these plants are dry, sandy or gravelly soils, but they will also grow in other types of well-draining soils which can remain dry.<\/p><p><b>Planting Instructions: <\/b><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">Space plants 3\u2019 apart. Dig<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">hole slightly<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">larger than, but the same depth as, the<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">nursery<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">container. Carefully remove plant from<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">container and gently loosen any compacted soil or<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">roots around the root<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">ball. Plant at the same depth<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">as the soil in the container. Add 2 to 3 inches of<\/span> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">mulch.<\/span><\/p><p><b>Watering Instructions: <\/b>The Texas Lantana has very low water needs. It is drought tolerant and prefers to be grown in dry soils, so you won\u2019t need to water them at all during fall and winter, and only a minor amount of supplementary water will be required through spring and summer.<\/p><p><b>Comments: <\/b>Attracts butterflies.
