It has dark green<br \/>foliage. Showy white flowers are produced from March through May, which<br \/>are followed by orange-red berries that attract birds. Plant is drought tolerant,<br \/>but appreciates supplemental water.<\/p><p><strong>Planting Sites:<\/strong> Well-drained, rocky or sandy soils in full or part sun. Unless<br \/>shaped and pruned, it should be given space for its arching branches.<\/p><p><strong>Planting Instructions:<\/strong> Space plants 5 \u2013 7\u2019 apart. Dig hole slightly larger than, but the same depth as the nursery<br \/>container. Carefully remove plant from container and gently loosen any compacted soil or roots around the root<br \/>ball. Plant at the same depth as the soil in the container. Add 2 to 3 inches of mulch.<\/p><p><strong>Watering Instructions:<\/strong> Water well after planting, using a root stimulator mixed according to directions. For about 3<br \/>months, water deeply when top 2 &#8211; 3\u201d of soil is dry to promote deep roots that will withstand drought. Skip a<br \/>watering after a rainfall of \u00bd\u201d to 1\u201d.<\/p><p><strong>Comments:<\/strong> Birds are attracted to the berries. Flowers provide nectar for butterflies. Texas White Honeysuckle is a<br \/>non-aggressive native substitute for the highly invasive Japanese Honeysuckle.
