18-20\u2019. Stems often run on the ground if not trained to a fence, arbor, or trellis. It<br \/>produces small 1\u201d-2\u201d white to pale lavender flowers from May until fall. The fruits are bright<br \/>red.<\/p><p><strong>Planting Sites:<\/strong> Texas passionflower grows in partial shade or full sun. It prefers well-drained sand or loam, but will<br \/>grow in clay and limestone soils<\/p><p><strong>Planting Instructions:<\/strong> Dig the hole slightly larger than, but the same depth as, the nursery container. Carefully remove<br \/>plant from container and gently loosen any compacted or circling roots around the root ball. Plant at the same depth<br \/>as the soil in the container. Add 2 to 3 inches of mulch.<\/p><p><strong>Watering Instructions:<\/strong> Water well after planting, using a root stimulator mixed according to directions. To promote<br \/>deep roots that will withstand drought, water deeply whenever the soil has dried to a depth of an inch or two.<\/p><p><strong>Comments:<\/strong> Host plant for the Gulf Fritillary butterfly. Moderately deer resistant.
